Match Results and Highlights 24 October 2024 Diss Heywood 2 (15) vs. Loddon 1 (3) Diss Heywood 2 delivered a commanding victory over Loddon 1, with standout performances from James Ramm and Simon Howling, both winning 3-0. The match between Rory Hannam and Ben Lawrence was a nail-biter, with Lawrence securing a 3-2 win after a tense fifth game (8-11). Diss Heywood secured 11 game wins and earned the 4-point bonus, resulting in a dominant 15-3 scoreline. Barnham Broom 1 (6) vs. East Anglia 2 (12) East Anglia 2 claimed an important away win with strong performances from Sam Jones and Chris Catchpole, who both secured 3-0 victories. Barnham Broom 1’s Paul Woods gave his team some momentum with a solid 3-0 win over Keane Pye. Diss Heywood 1 vs East Anglia 1 28 October 2024 The Premier Division clash between Diss Heywood 1 and East Anglia 1 delivered an evening of thrilling squash, with Diss Heywood emerging victorious with a 12-6 win. Here's how the matches unfolded: 1. Ian Cox vs. Tim Dixon (0-3) The evening opened with Ian Cox taking on Tim Dixon. Despite a valiant effort, Cox bludgeoning drives couldn’t overcome Dixon’s precision and control. Dixon claimed the match in straight games, edging the first with a tight 12/10 and maintaining his dominance to close out 7/11, 7/11. 2. William Henden (Broadland 1) vs. David Gouldby (Bannatynes 1) William Henden secured a straight-sets victory over David Gouldby in a tightly contested match. The games were neck-and-neck, with Gouldby finding inspiration from his early attacking form to cause Henden to rethink his tactics. Henden held his nerve and quality (but maybe not his strategy) to take the win 3-0 (16/14, 14/12, 12/10). 2. Samuel Henden (Broadland 1) vs. Kevin Harvey (Bannatynes 1) Samuel Henden showcased an outstanding performance, dominating Kevin Harvey in three swift games. His powerful play earned a convincing 3-0 victory with Harvey unable to sustain his forceful attacks (11/2, 11/6, 11/7). 3. This year's tournament is once again hosted at Broadland Sports Club in Fleggburgh, where the county's top Squash 57 players will clash, for two full-on days of competition.
